Our client is a fast-growing technology company that has built computer vision and AI capabilities for the mining & construction sector. There are two open positions currently but there are plans for additional hiring towards the end of this year. The positions are hybrid and can be based in their Sydney or Melbourne offices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing, developing and integrating ML models to solve computer vision problems
• Running experiments with LLMs and other generative AI models, and deciding when to build custom vs use off-the-shelf solutions
• Developing and maintaining ML lifecycle tooling, including data management, labelling and training pipelines
• Sourcing and curating training data to support model development
• Collaborating closely with a small, cross-functional product and AI/ML engineering team

About you:

• Strong computer vision background (Highly Desirable), including hands-on experience building and deploying ML/CV models for production software rather than purely research or consulting
• Startup or small-team experience with broad ownership, an engineering degree, and comfort operating independently with minimal direction
• Strong PyTorch and ML infrastructure experience (training pipelines, versioning, monitoring) - exposure to LLMs/VLMs or edge deployment is a bonus
• Experience in adjacent camera/imaging-heavy industries such as medical imaging, drones, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or satellite/remote sensing is highly beneficial
